Amani dislocates his shoulder (again)
Blues were looking to continue their good run with a return game against Laurel Park Tornadoes and with Laurel Park only able to field 10 players the Blues began in dominant fashion. A rough pitch didn't really help the boys passing game but they managed to create chances from the start and after 9 minutes the ball fell to Fergus on the edge of the box who hit a looping shot over the keeper. 5 minutes later a great long ball from Tom to Archie who set up Morgan for his obligatory goal. After 17 minutes another looping shot from Tom made it 3 and the Blues were cruising.
With everyone pushing forwards the Blues went to sleep a bit and conceded a goal, but on 35 minutes some great work by Archie around the box and a lovely finish by Josh to make it 1-4 at the break.
Second half started in a similar vein with the Blues pushing to add to their total but credit to Laurel Park who continues to battle and on one venture forwards some skillful play on the edge of the box resulted in a penalty. The spot kick was dispatched but that was the point where the game changed as in diving for the ball Amani fell on his shoulder and stayed down in pain with it looking like a repeat of the dislocation he'd suffered before. An ambulance was called and the game abandoned.
Thanks to Laurel Park for their compassion and assistance and best wishes to Amani for a speedy recovery.
