Read an update from club chairman, Luke Bishop, from our Annual General Meeting.

Since taking over as club chairman in January we have unfortunately encountered a few difficulties along the way; poor weather costing us two months of our season, tragically losing Jamie Lucas to cancer in March after a courageous fight, and with Covid-19 finally ending the season prematurely, it's safe to say I felt something of a baptism of fire in my first few months as chairman.

The close season has in itself bought its own challenges. We couldn't enjoy a day at the Burghfield May Fayre and with the club presentation day and our summer tournament also falling victim to Covid-19, it leaves us with a sense of disappointment as well as a £10k-£15k hole in the club's pocket.

During lockdown the committee met over Microsoft Teams to discuss where the club needed to be and to make some very difficult - but essential - decisions on the future of the club.

It was decided that we as a club would freeze membership for the forthcoming season and to continue offering winter training as normal for the 2020/21 season.

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank all of my fellow committee members, who continue to go far beyond the call of duty to deliver a first class service to this club. Also to our coaches who give up hours of their own time every season at training and match days, our parents for their understanding in these difficult times and of course the players, who continue to wear the shirt with pride.

I hope for everyone's sake the 2020/21 season is one of good health, enjoyment and success for us all.
