A return to league action for the First Team this weekend, alongside the return of BYDL and a busy EBFA schedule for our sides.

The First Team returned to Thames Valley Premier League action on Saturday as they faced Cookham Dean away at Alfred Major Rec. Mellers team continued their fantastic post-lockdown form with a 2-1 victory thanks to goals from Elliot Telford and Ollie Brown, as the team climbed up to sixth in the Premier Division table.

We again had two friendly fixtures for our Sunday men’s, with a Sunday XI travelling to Stanlake Meadow to take on Twyford Comets. A single second-half goal from Tom McClellan secured a good 1-0 win.

Manager Liam Gillis commented. “Decent performance from the lads against a good footballing side, despite loads of changes and 3 different formations.”

Another Sunday XI faced Hurst at Hurst Rec on Sunday morning. Our hosts got in front with a couple of early goals before Mark Shatliff pulled one back with a fantastic 20-yard strike into the top corner. Another couple of goals for our opponents, including one from the penalty spot, unfortunately meant we suffered a 4-1 defeat.

Our U17 Reds suffered a 3-0 defeat as they hosted Teddington Athletic Tornadoes at the Willink on Saturday morning.

In EBFA Group 7 on Saturday morning, our U16’s were beaten 2-1 in a tight game as faced Spencers Wood Tornadoes at the Willink.

Our U15 Buffalos were on the road again this weekend as they were defeated 2-1 as they visited Bracknell Cavaliers Colts.

In EBFA Group our U15 Bears remain undefeated as they shared the points with Pangbourne Youth Falcons in an 1-1 draw.

There was a goal-fest for our U14’s in EBFA Group 10 as they hosted Hearts of Teddlothian Pumas at the Willink on Saturday morning. Seven goals between the sides as we came out on top 4-3.

Another Hearts of Teddlothian side made the journey to face us on Saturday morning as their Falcons side took on our U13 Bisons at Mortimer West End. Goals from Owen Evans and Sam Davies saw us level at the break, before 4 goals in a 10-minute second-half spell from Eddie Riches (2), Kieran Crosher and Kieran Hoile put us in a commanding lead before the visitors added another late conciliation goal.

Our U13 Buffalos made the long away journey to face West Byfleet Scorpions Yellows on Saturday morning, finishing on the wrong end of a 6-3 score line. Mac Adufo scored a brace and James Chaimbault got the other Burghfield goal.

There was another fantastic performance and result for our U12 Rangers as they defeated Reading FC Women 4-0 away on Saturday.

Our U12 Tridents shared the points in EBFA Group 10 as it finished 2-2 at the Rec as they faced Whitegrove & Warfield Tornadoes.

Also in EBFA action this weekend were our U11 Lions who travelled away to take on Wokingham & Emmbrook Rangers and U11 Tigers who hosted Ascot United Racing.

Our U9 Oranges visited Woodley Saints Wildcats, whilst our U9 Reds and U9 Yellows were at home against Berks Elite Black and Old Windsor Tigers Black, respectively.
