A full schedule this weekend with all of our sides in action, including a local derby for the First Team and an all Burghfield U15's clash.

The Saturday First Team faced Mortimer in a local derby at the Rec on Saturday afternoon in the Thames Valley Premier League. We took a first half lead through Chris Smalley-Wood, before Ollie Brown doubled our advantage after the break. A frantic last 10 minutes saw the visitors come back and claim the points with a 3-2 win in a hard-fought game.

The Saturday Reserves finally got their league campaign underway this weekend, producing a great performance at Berks County Rovers to come away with a 4-1 victory thanks to goals from Martin Abery, Callum Anderton and a brace from Rhys Iremonger. Manager James Randall commented, “It’s been a long time coming but perfect way to start the season.”

On Sunday morning the Sunday First Team made it 2 wins from 2 in the Reading & District Sunday League Senior Division. A good battling performance away from home saw them earn a 2-0 victory, with goals coming from James Tarrant and Adam Bowyer,

The Sunday Reserves faced a tough fixture away to league leaders Wayback Wanderers. Luke Stroud got our only goal as we were defeated 4-1.

At CSA on Sunday morning the Sunday A Team produced a solid performance to beat Royal Albion 4-0 and maintain their 100% start to the season. First half goals from Josh Mehmet-Ali and a double from Phil Rushton gave us a comfortable lead before Vinny Kennedy added a fourth in the second half to secure the points.

Despite going two goals behind, the Sunday B Team produced a battling effort to earn a point at Barkham Athletic and come away with a 2-2 draw, with goals coming from Owen Brown and Jamie Bushnell.

It was a disappointing day for our Under 17 age group on Saturday, as the Under 17 Reds suffered their first defeat of the season as they were beaten 6-1 at home by a strong Laurel Park Cyclones team.

The Under 17 Blues travelled to Westwood Wanderers Greens and defeated 2-0 with goals either side of the break. You can read a match report from the game HERE.

The Under 16’s took on EBFA Division Four league leaders Sandhurst Town Boys & Girls Royals on Saturday morning, unfortunately finishing on the wrong end of an 8-1 scoreline.

It was an eventful game for the U15’s on Saturday as the Under 15 Bears and Under 15 Buffalos faced each other in an all Burghfield derby in EBFA Division Four. A great game finished all square at 1-1 with both sides already looking forward to the reverse fixture in February.

The U14’s suffered a 6-0 defeat at home as they faced Marlow United Lions.

Disappointment for the U13 age group this weekend as the U13 Bisons were beaten 6-1 away at Reading City United. Sam Davies got our only goal in a decent performance, that wasn’t reflected fully by the final scoreline.

The U13 Buffalos also put in a strong performance away at Eversley & California Youth Bulls. Twice they led through goals from Alex Quinnell and Mac Aduafo, but both times the hosts pulled level before eventually scoring the winner as the game ended 3-2.

Our U12 Rangers continued their strong start to the season at the Rec on Saturday morning with a convincing 5-0 victory Old Windsor Tigers Blacks.

It was a long journey to West London for the U12 Tridents as they faced Hearts of Teddlothian Jaguars. A solid performance from the team saw them earn a fantastic 4-1 away victory.

Also in EBFA league action this weekend were our U11 Lions, Under 11 Tigers, U9 Oranges, U9 Reds and U9 Yellows, while our U11 Cobras, U11 Pythons and U11 Vipers were all involved in BYDL league fixtures.

There were BYDL Cup fixtures for our younger age groups on Saturday morning, with games for our U10’s, U8 Greens, U8 Reds, U7 Bluebirds and U7 Ice.
