A long 105 days since we were last in action, we finally returned this weekend with a busy schedule for our men's and EBFA affiliated youth teams.

A Saturday men’s XI travelled away to Datchet for a friendly on Saturday afternoon. It was a good run out and great to get some minutes under the belt ahead of a return to league action, with goals from Teo Atik and Elliot Telford enough to secure a 2-0 victory.

It was straight back to TVPL action for the Saturday Reserves as they came from 2 goals down at half-time to earn a hard-fought point away at Braybrooke. Callum Anderton begun our comeback from the penalty spot with Luke Stroud scoring the equaliser late on.

A tough test for our Sunday XI as they faced Bracknell Sunday League side, Bracknell Rangers in a friendly. A James Tarrant penalty and a fantastic goal from Jack Bowyer gave us a two-goal lead at the break. Despite Bracknell pulling one back in the second half we did enough to claim a 2-1 victory.

Another Sunday XI travelled to Cantley Park for a friendly on Sunday afternoon, playing out a 10-goal thriller with Racing Club de Woko. Josh Mehmet-Ali scored twice for us, with our other goals coming from Jack Farmer and Jason Heath as we suffered a 6-4 defeat.

A strong performance from the U17 Blues, who were unfortunately beaten 4-2 at home. Two late goals denied them a deserved point against Sandhurst Town Royals. Both Burghfield goals coming in the first-half from Morgan Parsley and Will Griffiths.

There was a 3-1 defeat for our U17 Reds on Saturday morning as they travelled away to face FC Holyport Hawks.

Our U16’s return to EBFA action ended in a three-goal defeat as they travelled away to Twyford Comets on Saturday morning.

Our U15 Buffalos made the short journey to Spencers Wood on Saturday morning, unfortunately finishing on the wrong end of a 4-1 scoreline.

Getting their EBFA Group 6 campaign underway at the Willink on Saturday morning, our U15 Bears shared the points with Berks County Red Kites in an entertaining 3-3 draw.

There were also six goals and the points shared between the sides as our U14’s hosted Hawley Youth at the Willink.

An Eddie Riches strike and an own-goal helped our U13 Bisons to a 2-1 half-time lead away at Pinewood Panthers. Tiredness started to show in the second-half though and the hosts turned things around before Kaiyon McKenna levelled the scores late on to earn a deserved point.

A strong team performance from the U13 Buffalos at Mortimer West End on Saturday morning saw them earn a well-deserved victory over Caversham AFC Red Stars. James Chaimbault opened the scoring in the first half before Mac Adufo doubled the lead from the penalty spot after the break. The visitors pulled a goal back before two great finishes from Glenn Griffiths secured the three points for us.

It was fantastic to see football back on the Rec on Saturday morning as the U12 Rangers came out on top in a tightly contested encounter with Caversham Trents Whites, with just a single goal between the sides.

A strong away performance from our U12 Tridents got their EBFA Group 10 campaign underway as they took all three points with a 6-3 victory at Ashridge Park Rovers.

Also in EBFA action this weekend were our U11 Lions who faced Woodley United Spitfires and U11 Tigers who made the long journey away to take on Hearts of Teddlothian Cheetahs.

Our U9 Oranges hosted Reading City, whilst our U9 Reds and U9 Yellows were away to Ashridge Park Royals and Darby Green & Potley Strikers, respectively.
