A mixed bag of results across our various age groups this weekend as grassroots football returned following the end of lockdown 2.0.

The Saturday First Team continued their Thames Valley Premier League campaign as they travelled away to Richings Park on Saturday. Unfortunately we suffered a 3-1 defeat, our goal coming from a James McClellan cross that was turned into his own net by a Richings Park defender.

No TVPL fixture for the Saturday Reserves this week, so they were instead involved in friendly action away at Datchet. Despite a good performance from the team and a goal for Alex Vallins, the game finished 2-1 to the hosts.

The Sunday Reserves were back at the Rec on Sunday morning taking on Earley Elite in a game that finished goalless.

At CSA on Sunday the Sunday A Team faced Romania United. Goals from James Moring, Vinny Kennedy and Josh Mehmet-Ali looked to be enough to secure victory, however a last minute penalty for the visitors levelled the scores as it finished 3-3.

Our Sunday B Team travelled to Prospect Park to face Legacy Lions on Sunday morning. Continuing where they left off before lockdown, a great performance saw us claim all three points with another 4-1 away victory. Goals coming from Mark Shatliff, Tom McClellan, Dom Lee and Olly Guest.

On Saturday morning the Under 17 Blues took on Westwood Wanderers Greens, unfortunately suffering a 4-0 home defeat. You can read a review of the game HERE.

The Under 17 Reds faced Caversham AFC Mustangs at CSA on Saturday in a game that finished all square at 3-3, a result that leaves the team well placed in third position in the Division Three table.

The Under 16’s were at home against a strong Moor Mead side in EBFA Division Four on Saturday, finishing on the wrong end of an 2-0 scoreline.

A 2-1 victory away at Twyford Comets Blacks means the Under 15 Bears have retained their position at the top of the EBFA Division Four table.

On Saturday morning the U13 Bisons continued their good pre-lockdown form with a 5-2 victory at Mortimer West End against Woodley United Mohawks. Goals from Kai Trust, a Sam Davies brace, Risto Parsley and Owen Evans secured the three points.

The U13 Buffalos travelled away to AFC Reading Spitfires in EBFA Division Seven on Saturday. Despite some good spells throughout the game they were beaten 5-1. Our goal coming from a Mac Aduafo penalty.

The U12 Rangers faced Darby Green & Potley Youth at the Rec on Saturday in a game that finished level at 2-2.

Our U12 Tridents unfortunately suffered a 3-0 defeat away at AFC Henley Hotspur in EBFA Division Five.

Also in EBFA league action this weekend were our U11 Lions, Under 11 Tigers, U9 Oranges, U9 Reds and U9 Yellows.

In BYDL on Saturday morning there was an all Burghfield derby between our U11 Pythons and U11 Vipers, whilst our U11 Cobras, U10’s, U8 Greens, U8 Reds, U7 Bluebirds, U7 Ice and U7 Eagles were also in action.
