Another busy weekend saw several teams in action, including a local derby for the First Team at the Rec on Saturday afternoon.

There was a local derby at the Rec on Saturday as the First Team hosted Mortimer in Thames Valley Premier League Premier Division. It proved to be a comfortable afternoon with first half goals from Ollie Brown and Jordan Cox followed up by Chris Lynch and Teo Atik after the break to secure a 4-0 victory and maintain our 100% start to the season.

After a couple of weeks delay the Reserves finally got their league campaign underway on Saturday with a 4-2 victory away at Pangbourne. Alex Vallins opened the scoring for us followed by a Tom Adams hat-trick that helped us claim all three points.

Our Sunday Firsts travelled to Arborfield Park to face Arborfield on Sunday morning, coming away with a good 3-2 victory thanks to goals from Ollie Brown, James McClellan and Josh Howell.

Manager Liam Gillis said, “Made hard work of this one, but got the result in the end. Cracking debut from Josh Howell, rounded off with the winner.”

The Sunday Reserves were at the Rec on Sunday morning in an entertaining game against Westwood Wanderers. Jim Hardy scored twice and Dom Kerevan got another but it was not enough as our visitors claimed a 4-3 win.

The Sunday A’s travelled away to North Street Playing Fields to face Calcot Royals in Reading & District Sunday League Division Two. Morgan Parsley opened the scoring for us before the hosts drew level just before half-time. Morgan added a second after the break and we missed a few chances to extend our lead but held on to secure all three points

Our Sunday B’s were back at Burghfield CSA on Sunday morning to face Hurst, where we suffered a 5-0 defeat.

On Sunday afternoon the Ladies travelled away to take on Wycombe Saints Ladies at Rye Park. A penalty from Nicole Anderson and goals from India Cox and Vicki Brocks were enough to secure a 3-2 victory and our first three points of the TVCWFL season.

After a week without a game last weekend, our U18’s got their EBFA season underway on Saturday morning away at Arborfield Aces, unfortunately suffering a 5-1 defeat.

Our U17’s hosted Spencers Wood at CSA on Saturday morning. Luke Mason opened the scoring half way through the first-half, but the visitors pulled back level instantly as the scores were level at the break. Ben Symington put us back in front but the visitors again came back with 2 goals in 2 minutes before adding a fourth just before the end.

At Willink on Saturday morning our U15’s were defeated 6-2 by Bracknell Cavaliers Colts.

The U14 Bisons travelled to Caversham AFC Dynamos on Saturday and put in a fantastic performance as they came away with a 2-1 victory. Despite playing some great football we were unable to make the breakthrough in the opening half, but goals from James Chaimbault and a stunning strike from Risto Parsley put us in command in the second half. The hosts pulled a goal back but it was not enough as we claimed all three points.

Our U14 Buffalos were defeated away at Pinewood Predators on Saturday morning. An excellent first-half performance saw us lead at the break with goals from Nick Ardern and Sidney Pink, but it unravelled in the second half and the hosts took control as the game finished 6-2.

At Mortimer West End on Saturday our U13 Lions were defeated 6-1 by Windsor Youth Owls Blues.

In EBFA Division Three on Saturday the U12 Cobras defeated FC Holyport Hurricanes 2-1 thanks to a second-half own-goal and a winner from Alexander Desai.

Our U12 Tigers were defeated 2-1 away at Marlow Youth Town while the U12 Vipers put in a great effort to win 8-2 away at Winnersh Rangers. Owen Jeffery (2), Kian Evans (2), Joel Hawkins (2), Alfie Sherwood-Heath and Olly Monkhouse were all on the scoresheet.

Our U12 Pythons made it two wins from two in BYDL as goals from Nihal Samuel and a Ben Stockwell brace helped secure a 3-1 victory over Whiteknights Tigers.

Also in action on Saturday morning were our U10 Orange, U10 Red, U10 Yellow, U9 White, U9 Green, U9 Red, U8 Ice, U8 Bluebirds, U8 Eagles, U8 Lions, U7 Lions, U7 Pumas, U7 Panthers, U7 Tigers and U7 Jaguars.
