Both our men's Saturday and Sunday Firsts were in league action at the Rec this weekend, as well as several youth fixtures in EBFA and BYDL.

The Men’s First Team were at the Rec on Saturday afternoon as we faced Reading City U23’s in Thames Valley Premier League. We trailed by a single goal at the break, but Teo Atik headed in a James McClellan corner to draw us level mid-way through the second half. We continued to push for a winner with the visitors happy to settle for a point, but despite twice hitting the bar late on we couldn’t find a breakthrough as it ended all square at 1-1.

On Sunday morning our Men’s Sunday Firsts were back at the Rec taking on Tilehurst YM. After a goal-less opening half, the visitors went in front shortly after break. We turned things around though with goals from James McClellan, Harvey Beales and Rhys Iremonger earning us a good 3-1 victory.

The Sunday Reserves travelled to Theale Green School on Sunday morning as we faced Berkshire Dons. Harry Peters was on the scoresheet for us, but we were unfortunately defeated 3-1.

The Sunday A’s returned to winning ways as we faced Caversham AFC away at Clayfield Copse on Sunday. Josh Mehmet-Ali opened the scoring mid-way through the first-half, finishing a ball across the box from Morgan Parsley. Josh then added his second of the game after the break as we secured a good 2-0 win.

On Sunday morning our Sunday B’s hosted Sanctuary Strikers at CSA. Unfortunately we were defeated 4-2, with our goals coming from Scott Williamson and Simon Beake.

Our U18’s travelled to Clayfield Copse on Saturday morning, taking on Caversham AFC Mustangs in EBFA Division Three. We took all three points in a high-scoring game, coming away with a good 5-3 victory.

At Willink on Saturday morning, our U16 Bears shared the points with Windsor Youth Eagles Pumas as it ended level at 2-2.

Our U16 Buffalos made the journey to face Pinewood Panthers away, unfortunately suffering a 6-0 defeat.

Covid illness and injuries impacted our U15’s on Saturday as we took on high-flying Theale Tigers Orange at Willink. Despite never giving up we were on the end of an undeserved 7-1, the highlight for us being a consolation goal scored by Bobby Breakenridge, following a mazy run out of defence and into the heart of the opposition box by skipper Luca Paonessa.

The U14 Bisons faced Old Windsor Tigers Reds at Old Windsor Rec on Saturday morning in EBFA Division Three. We worked hard and created several chances, but despite a brace from Sam Davies, the hosts came out on top as we were defeated 4-2.

Our U14 Buffalos hosted AFC Reading Meteors at Willink on Saturday. The visitors led 2-0 at the break, but we started the second-half brightly and deservedly got back into the game with a goal from Glenn Griffiths. Despite some great work in goal from Harry Quinnell our opponents added to their lead further as it finished 5-1.

Also at Willink on Saturday morning, our U13 Lions came out on top in a close game against Binfield Predators, coming away with a 3-2 victory.

It finished goal-less for our U13 Rangers as the points were shared with EBFA Division Four league leaders Pinewood Pumas at Mortimer West End on Saturday.

The U13 Tridents travelled away to Pinewood Predators in EBFA Division Six on Saturday morning, coming away with an excellent 4-2 victory.

On Saturday morning our U12 Cobras hosted Maidenhead Boys & Girls Scorpions at the Rec, finishing on the wrong end of a 2-0 scoreline.
