Under 15 Blues off to a good start!

With not much football being played over the last couple of weeks due to the weather and Christmas, we thought what better way to get back in the football mood than to review some of our teams start to the season!

Under 15 Blues manager, Andy Willis, had this to say about the Blues start to the season...

So far so good for U15 Blues, we started the season unsure whether we would be able to field 11 each week but now have a healthy squad of 14. Although the team has had a number of changes since last season the boys soon started to work really well together. We’ve been focusing on improving our passing game this season and this has really paid off with some very entertaining performances.

Apart from a hiccup against one team in league and cup, results have been excellent. We were the first team to take a point off the league leaders (in a game we really should have won) and enjoyed a very entertaining draw against club rivals the Reds.

The team was just beginning to purr like a well-tuned engine when Amani, our keeper, dislocated his shoulder whilst diving in goal. This has caused us a few issues with no easy replacement but the boys have buckled down to share keeper duties. The weather has not helped us and we’re a couple of games behind other teams but really looking forward to the second half of the season.
