Following the announcement of Steve Melledew as our new Saturday First Team Manager, we can now confirm full details of our Saturday Management Team for the 2020/21 season.

First Team
Alongside Steve, Lee Malham will be joining as Assistant Manager, as the team once again compete in the Thames Valley Premier Division.

Commenting on his appointment and the upcoming season, Mellers said: "The feeling within the Management Team and the players that have already committed to the club for next season is brilliant. I can see myself at the club for many years to come. Burghfield FC has an extremely positive vibe - it’s infectious. I am very positive trophies will follow us."

Lee added: "I'm very excited to have joined the club as Assistant Manager. I'm looking forward to working with everyone involved, and more importantly bringing some silverware to the club!"

Craig Adams will also be joining the team as Goalkeeping Coach. Craig is an FA Level 2 qualified coach, with over five years experience coaching goalkeepers in the Reading area. Bringing a wealth of skills and experience having played between the sticks from an early age, Craig commented: "I’m very much looking forward to the next step along my coaching path helping to develop the Burghfield goalkeepers."

Saturday Reserves
James Randall will continue in his role as Manager of our Saturday Reserve Team, as they compete in Division 4 of the Thames Valley League. Having been at the club for a number of years, he is now into his fourth year of management with us.

James said: "With a great Management Team in place I believe we can continue on an upward curve that the club has been on for the last few years. I am looking forward to getting back to it with the Saturday Reserves next season, and with a great group of players I am confident we will be successful."

Joining the Saturday Reserves as Assistant Manager will be Darren Phillips, better known to the players as 'Darnell'. Having played for the club for 9 years, Darren will now join the Management Team, and commented: "I am looking forward to the new season and getting the best out of the players."
