The Men's First Team lifted the B&B Charles Twelftree Trophy after a fantastic 2-0 victory over Maidenhead Town.

The Men's First Team secured silverware with an excellent victory on Tuesday night (12 Mar) as we won the Berks & Bucks FA Charles Twelftree Trophy.

We faced fellow Thames Valley Premier League side, Maidenhead Town, with the match played at Arbour Park, the home of Slough Town FC.

We started strongly and deservedly took the lead after just 9 minutes. Matt Symington threaded a ball through the Maidenhead defence for Sam Guze, who finished coolly to put us ahead.

We continued to look the more threatening side throughout the opening half, with a strong appeal for a penalty turned down when Teddy Thomas went over in the box, and Jack Bowyer seeing an effort cleared off the line.

Maidenhead came out strongly at the beginning of the second-half, however we coped with everything they had to offer without goalkeeper Ben Lallament really being tested.

With just over 10 minutes remaining Tom McClellan doubled our lead, getting onto the end of a neat flick from Will Vallins before unleashing an unstoppable strike past the Maidenhead goalkeeper.

We had opportunities to add a third, with Tom McClellan almost on the scoresheet again after some nice play between Jack Bowyer and Jordan Cox, but this time the goalkeeper was able to make the save. Lewis Butcher was also denied late on when through on goal.

The final whistle soon followed though and captain James McClellan lifted the trophy on a memorable night for the club that saw us crowned 2024 Charles Twelftree Trophy winners.
