Mixed fortunes for our sides this weekend as we had (almost) a full schedule across our various age groups.

On Saturday afternoon our Saturday men’s side faced Reading YMCA in a double header. The First Team suffered a 3-0 defeat on their return to the Rec, with all 3 goals coming in the opening 45 minutes.

The Saturday Reserves faced YMCA Rapids at the CSA, coming away with a convincing 4-0 victory thanks to goals from Ellis Graham, Callum Anderton, Martin Abery and Kieran Smith.

Our Sunday Firsts travelled to Basingstoke league side Team FC on Sunday morning. Despite dominating large parts of the game, they were eventually beaten 4-3, with our goals coming from Rhys Iremonger and an Ollie Brown double.

Following his goal on Saturday, Callum Anderton was on the scoresheet again for our Sunday Reserves as they suffered a 5-3 defeat at home against Wayback Wanderers. Olly Guest with our other two goals.

The Sunday A Team visited Pangbourne Rec to take on AFC Pangbourne. Despite goals from Josh Mehmet and a James Moring penalty, a fiery game was eventually settled by a late goal to give the hosts a 3-2 victory.

It finished goalless at Millworth Lane as our Sunday B Team faced Shinfield Rangers on Sunday morning.

Our U17 Reds travelled to Wokingham & Emmbrook Rangers on Saturday morning, securing a good 5-1 win to top the table two games into the new season.

The U15 Bears had an emphatic 9-1 victory at Old Windsor Tigers Blacks, with four goals from Jake Vincent and a hat-trick for Joe Bailey. Dylan Madden and Joe Wignall were also on the scoresheet.

After a week off last Saturday, the U15 Buffalos got their EBFA campaign underway with a 6-2 defeat away at Wokingham & Emmbrook Wolverines.

Our U14’s faced the long journey to West London on Saturday morning to take on Hearts of Teddlothian Pumas, unfortunately coming away on the wrong end of a 4-0 scoreline.

Also taking on a Hearts of Teddlothian side on Saturday morning were our U13 Bisons. Despite going a player down due to injury for the second half the side put in a great performance to battle back from 2 goals behind to lead 4-3, before the visitors levelled with the last kick of the game.

The U13 Buffalos suffered a 6-1 defeat at home against Sandhurst Town Royals, with the majority of the opposition goals going in during a short 15-minute spell in the second half.

It was a good day for our U12 age group on Saturday, as the U12 Rangers defeated Maidenhead United Development 4-1 at the Rec and the U12 Tridents won 7-1 away at Farnham Royal Mavericks.

The weekend also saw the BYDL season get underway for some of our younger age groups, including the first competitive matches for our U7 Ice and U7 Bluebirds teams.

Also in action over the weekend were our U11 Lions, U11 Tigers, U11 Vipers, U11 Pythons, U11 Cobras, U10's, U9 Oranges, U9 Reds, U9 Yellows, U8 Greens and U8 Reds.
