This weekend, clubs across the country are coming together to support The FA’s Play Safe campaign, endorsed by the NSPCC and backed across every level of English football - from the Premier League and Women’s Super League through to the grassroots game.
This year’s theme, “Small Talk is Bigger Than You Think”, focuses on giving young people a voice. It’s a reminder to every adult involved in football - coaches, parents, referees, and volunteers - of the importance of creating open conversations, asking questions, and most importantly, listening to young people.
As a club, safeguarding and player welfare are at the heart of everything we do. Football should always provide a safe, positive, and inclusive environment where players can enjoy the game, make friends, and grow both on and off the pitch.
We are proud to stand alongside The FA, the NSPCC, and the wider football community in supporting this important initiative.
This weekend, and always, small talk really is bigger than you think.
